Road Journal: Clean Energy Tour

by Joe Radosevich

Last week, Matt and I visited with workers and leaders who are on the front lines of the clean energy economy in Minnesota.

We toured businesses large and small, from established wind farm developers to exciting start-ups in the lighting industry. We met a group of tradesmen who struck out on their own to start a new company specializing in sustainable residential contracting.

Absentee Governor

By Dave Colling

Tim Pawlenty is off again! Iowa, New Hampshire, California, Alabama. These days it seems he’s popping up everywhere across the country. You’d almost think he didn’t care about the challenges facing Minnesota!

Minnesotans don’t need an absentee governor. What we need is a governor who wakes up everyday and works for the voters.

Our state faces many challenges, challenges we can overcome. But we need a governor whose single focus is Minnesota and the people who make our state great, not the next career move.

With Matt Entenza you’ll never have to know where his priorities are. He’ll be here everyday working to make sure we have high-quality jobs, remarkable schools and affordable access to health care.

Matt Entenza will make Minnesota great again!

Recently, a homemade yard sign popped up on E. Como Blvd. in St. Paul. Two of our super supporters, Dean and Dorie Anderson get credit for this wonderful sign!

My Choice for Governor

By Sue Perpich

I am proud to support Matt Entenza and my good friend Robyne Robinson for governor and lieutenant governor. It’s been twenty-four years since my father, Rudy Perpich, was re-elected and we haven’t had a DFL governor since. Matt and Robyne will carry on my father’s work and make Minnesota great again.

My father had a passionate belief in our state’s capacity for greatness and a profound understanding of the struggles Minnesota families faced; that is why he fought so hard as our last DFL governor for remarkable schools, quality jobs and more substantial healthcare access.

Matt shares this belief and will stand up for Minnesotans just like my father did.

I’ve known Matt and his wife Lois Quam for many years. When my father established the Minnesota Healthcare Access Commission that led to MinnesotaCare, there was only one person he trusted to lead it—Lois. When MinnesotaCare was threatened Matt protected it.

My father understood that what Minnesota needed during tough times was hard work and bold leadership. We need the same things today and that’s why I’ll be voting for Matt Entenza and Robyne Robinson on August 10th.

I hope you’ll join me.

Taking on Tom Emmer

By Dave Colling

Last night, Matt Entenza took on Tom Emmer and the Republican Party's extreme economic agenda on MSNBC's The Ed Show.

I've known Matt Entenza for a long time and he's always stood up against the radical agenda of the Republican Party and last night was no exception.

If you missed The Ed Show on MSNBC last night, you can watch it here:

(Fast forward to the 34:00 minute mark to see Matt)

If you believe like Matt does that we need to stand firm against extremists like Tom Emmer, then join our campaign and let's work together to make Minnesota great again.

Road Journal – Matt and Chester in Duluth

By Jake Levy-Pollans

Matt spent last Thursday in Duluth and Grand Rapids. We had a great time up north, talking with a few media outlets and touring a manufacturing facility. A highlight for me, however, was walking around the Duluth Street Festival.

Any opportunity to walk along Superior Street shaking hands and chatting with voters makes for a great afternoon. But Thursday was made especially distinctive when Chester, a gorgeous Golden Retriever and his owner, Dave joined us on the campaign trail. Chester, unsurprisingly, did a terrific job attracting voters towards Matt!

Matt has been a pet owner most of his adult life and he loves returning home at the end of a long day to his Labrador, Eleanor. Having Chester with us on Thursday was a treat; he really set us all at ease as we strolled through the energetic crowd. Dave has clearly done a great job raising Chester because the dog was incredibly well mannered. Even by my lofty canine standards.

Later that day, Matt and Robyne attended a house party in Grand Rapids hosted by Cyndy, one of the campaign’s super volunteers. Cyndy really out did herself, not only did she supply delicious guacamole, but she also packed her house full of undecided voters interested in Matt’s message.

Between Chester and the wonderful Grand Rapids house party, Thursday was a fabulous day on the campaign trail. But, let’s be honest here, this post is mostly an excuse for me to put up pictures of Matt and Chester, so here they are:

Tips For Tom Emmer

Earlier this week Tom Emmer suggested that restaurant servers made over a $100,000 dollars a year and should have their tips count against their wages.

Someone this separated from the realities of working Minnesotans and the tough times they face almost certainly must have other challenges in connecting to what Minnesotans need.

Sure enough, reviewing his legislative voting record shows Tom Emmer really doesn't get it. Voting against kids and families? Against older Minnesotans? Against a cleaner and healthier Minnesota? Against public safety?

Read the Emmer Record

We thought we'd help Tom out by setting up a place where he can get some tips to help him figure out what Minnesotans need in these tough times, because surely it isn't lower wages.

Go to: http://entenza.com/tips

And give Tom Emmer a tip. Maybe then he'll understand what it will take to move Minnesota forward.

Road Journal: Alexandria Beetles

by Joe Radosevich

On Tuesday, Matt visited Alexandria and got the honor of throwing out the first pitch at Knute Nelson Memorial Ballpark. The Alexandria Beetles were taking on the Willmar Stingers in a true summer classic in one of the state’s most scenic lakes regions.
