Our Future
It's all well and good to point out a problem - but as governor, I intend to solve it.
I intend to solve it by making Minnesota the nation's leader in the new clean energy economy.
My vision is of a Minnesota whose economy grows by generating 21st century ideas, innovations and solutions. Some doubt this vision. Some believe we can address 21st century challenges with only 20th century ideas, innovations and solutions. We can't. What we can do is work together to build the economy of tomorrow right here in our backyard.
Yesterday the Star Tribune published a commentary about my vision: Let's look at the budget deficit as visionaries. I hope you will read it and send me your thoughts and questions.
But let's be clear: This campaign is about more than my vision. It's about far more than a set of policy proposals. It's about making Minnesota work again - for all Minnesotans.
This campaign is about you and your future.
Minnesota has long been an innovative economic leader and can be again. But I need your help to realize this vision.
We must continue to build this campaign - to spread our message on the air and on the ground. Share this story on Facebook, Twitter, or email this post to your friends and family.
With your support, we can make my vision a reality, and help make Minnesota work again.
Sincerely,
Matt
Did you hear the BREAKING NEWS?
Last night, Matt received the endorsement from the Stonewall DFL Caucus!
The Stonewall DFL Caucus works for a safe and equitable Minnesota, electing LGBT and allied Democrats to office in Minnesota. They tend to back winning candidates, and we look forward to working with them to win Matt the DFL endorsement and the election.
With this endorsement, our campaign continues to advance a positive vision of prosperity and equality for every Minnesotan.
We are very honored to receive this endorsement and we look forward to working side by side with our brothers and sisters of the Stonewall DFL Caucus to make Minnesota work again for everyone.

For the Record: Macalester Forum
By Jake Levy-Pollans
Last week, I covered the debate at Hopkins, now I am posting about a forum at Macalester College - this sounds like a regular blog feature to me! So it needs a name: "For the Record." I'll use this blog feature to reflect and comment on the debates and forums that Matt appears in along with the other DFL candidates for governor.
The Macalester forum, hosted by the 4th and 5th Congressional Districts and the Macalester Dems, had a rather intense format: each candidate was given one minute to answer each of the 10 questions asked my moderator and DFL Chair Brian Melendez. Don't think that sounds too bad or too difficult? Try formulating a policy to combat invasive species, like Emerald Ash Borer, in a minute or less. Ouch.
Honor and Remembrance
Sixty-eight years ago today, our nation was attacked at Pearl Harbor, spurring our entry into World War II. It is
a day that still lives vividly in the memories of some of our citizens. And it's a reminder of how much has been sacrificed to uphold the values we hold dear as a nation.
It's well worth taking time to reflect on these things in the midst of our busy days -- and to say "thank you" to all those who put their lives on the line to keep us safe and enable the rest of us to simply live our lives.
