A picture's worth a thousand words, so I'll keep this post brief and encourage you to check out the pics at the end. For this week's road journal, I wanted to cover Matt's visit to Moorhead. The city is preparing for flood season and volunteers are rushing to fill as many sand bags as possible. He spent the afternoon helping out.

Every year the people of Moorhead are in a fight against time with the thaw and the rise of the Red River. Friday afternoon was not just an opportunity for Matt to pitch in, but also a good opportunity to talk with local officials and engineers about the city's annual struggle.

Will you join Matt and volunteer? If nothing else, it's a good excuse to enjoy the DQ a bit away from the sand bagging location - Matt and I both had out first Blizzards of the season. Matt went with his favorite, Heath Bar, and I went with M&Ms.
