Entenza Statement on Pawlenty Bonding Plan

ST. PAUL, Minn.  In response to the release of Gov. Tim Pawlenty's bonding proposal, DFL gubernatorial candidate Matt Entenza has issued the following statement:

"This plan is a tremendous disappointment but of course, not surprising from this governor. Tim Pawlenty is using this bonding proposal to burnish his national conservative credentials. We don't need a governor who is willing to hurt Minnesota in order to help himself nor another ideologue who doesn't understand the difference between Tea Party rhetoric and what's good for the state. We need a governor who will put Minnesotans first.

"Everyone living in the reality-based community understands we can't cut our way out of this recession. It's a basic business principle: We have to invest. We've been neglecting this state's infrastructure for 20 years, and it shows, and it is hurting our economy. Furthermore, a bonding bill, done right, has the potential to help pull Minnesota out of our economic slump, putting thousands of benched workers back on the job. It takes a strong governor with a vision of where to take our economy to do this and get our state back on the right track."
